Head to Head review of Daytona and Rockhard 3/4 lids (and yes, that pun was intended)
XL Gold Daytona VS L Flat Black Rockhard.
The Daytona shell is smaller but the "brow" is higher. It also is flatter on top and rises up higher on the back which makes it really light weight. Quality is on par with a cheap half helmet. The ear protection is minimal but it does buffer some wind and noise. Fit is loose at XL for me and I typically wear a 7 5/8 to 7 3/4 hat. I have a big head.
The Rockhard shell has a more pronounced "egg" shape and sits higher on my head, but the brow is lower. It also covers more of the ear and back of the neck. The quality is really nice, the ear pads remind me of my old Rydell or Bike football helmet from my pop warner football days. It blocks out a lot of wind and sound. Fit is tight at L for me but as the foam "breaks in" it should be a good fit. If you've ever broken in a full face helmet you know what I'm talking about. No hot spots or burning.
Not pictured is my friends Fulmer V2. It's somewhere in between these two.
