What kind of helmet and we riding with?
#141
Better not ride at all just to be sure! When that truck hits you head on, don't expect too much from the Schuberth. Then of course one of the nasty terminal illnesses might strike as you sit safe in your armchair. Nobody should feel 'holier than thou' - fate's got something grim in store for us all, no doubt! In the meantime, riding a motorcycle is definitely taboo if you are at all sceptical.
The Schuberth is one of the quietest helmets on the market, so wind noise is not an issue. I still wear earplugs. Most of all, it's comfortable, so I don't mind wearing it. Comfort is the most important feature of your helmet, otherwise you won't wanna wear it and will be tempted to go without.

With a cruiser helmet around town I would say it's looks 1, comfort 2 and safety 3. Same with clothes too. Those who ride full face on a Harley around town, watch out for the fashion police. On a run, different rules come into play. In the UK HD is about style a lot of the time. I guess in the States, there are far more practical guys riding Harleys. Over here it would appear 80 or 90% ride open face.

There are a lot of Harleys but very, very few Dynas where I live. The vast majority of the Harley riders here are in half helmets or naked. I suspect if we had a similar poll in the touring section we'd see a skew that direction. Dyna riders seem younger, a bit less traditional, and more performance oriented.
