Anything you put in contact with the paint is going to leave some kind of mark. I use S100 Total Finish Restorer. Sticking those rubber pads to your fender looks like hell when using a solo seat.

If the rubber squares are marking up your fender or expect they may then dump them, I did.
I would hot use a fender bib to protect between the seat and the fender.
The protective HD plastic I spoke of part number is: 59546-02

I would use a fender bib to cover up any marks a 2 up seat made however.

No, I removed the rubber squares from the fender before installing the pillion. I was referring to the rubber devices located on bottom of new mustang pillion. I think they are too long because I have to apply pressure to screw the nut in. not a lot, but more than I was anticipating. When I remove the pillion I can see where those rubber chairs were and it concerns me. Perhaps it's nothing to worry about here's a pic. It's the two at the top of the pic right by the bracket that slides into back of seat I'm concerned about. The lower ones are fine and apply no pressure on fender.
edit; I won't use a bib with pillion then and are you saying if I do use a bib at all, to add that protective film first?
edit: what I'm trying to explain is those top two rubber chairs are acting like a fulcrom on the fender
hope I'm making sense.

Well I forgot about those kinds of supports that come with Mustang seats.
They make a high quality seat for sure. I would call Mustang seats and
see what they say. There also great with customer support.
The seats I had in mind were of the HD verity.

The fuzzy half of VELCRO sticks real nice to those rubber bumpers if you choose to stick em to your seat rather then the fender. I suggest scuffing the plastic on the seat with scotch bright and a drop of crazy glue to keep the bumpers on the seat. The VELCRO keeps the bumpers from scuffing up your fender.

3M makes the clear plastic material that they use on the front of cars. You can buy the stuff online with some searching I'm sure. If I were to run a fender bib, I would make sure to have it put on under neath it.
