Default No spark, ran last week

2002 FXDX. Bike is getting fuel, but when I pulled the spark plug out and attached it to the wire and grounded it out to the frame while turning the bike over, no spark. Any suggestions????

Cool thanks, I checked all the fuses and I forgot to mention its not fuel injected. Crank sensor is in the front I think?? Havnt worked on it in years so I forgot. Cant find my manual either. Coil is a Crane and is fairly new, but I guess that doesnt matter.

Well, with the wire coming from the coil attached to the spark plug, I grounded it out the the frame and the spark plug didnt spark. Simple trick. Im guessing its from the coil but im unsure. Blows my mind if it is, its only a year old.

Mine was carbed as well, the crank sensor is up front , maybe pull it out and check the magnet for metal debris and wipe it off....then see if she will hit. Then check the coil and the crank sensor with a ohm meter "multi-meter" ... if it's the crank sensor you will have fun wiring that booger into the factory loom took me about an hour to do it... my slip on's, exhaust bracket...and heat shields had to come off... and she was still tight, but i ran the wire in the factory location... i go crazy over putting stuff back the right way, i will jerry-rig crap only if an emergency...

Thanks for the great replies and over 60 views. I know the crank positioning sensor was done in the spring when I had a stator put in. My two friends that own two small shops are swinging towards the coil. Unfortunately I was hoping not. I got one to try. I have a Crane coil and it wasnt cheap and I wasnt looking to spend alot of money on a part that is only a year old. I'll try that first if not have a buddy whos good with wiring touch it. Its all spagetti to me. Dont have time with work to mess with it and I usually take the bike out on Christmas day, due to I cant hunt on that day. Something I religiosly do every year.
