Default spray painted Horn cover and cleaned up battery

just used some black engine paint. 2 coats.

took off the battery band to paint that. but rushed it and it looked like crap. so i just covered the holes from the inside for now while I sand down the botched paint job on the battery band

yeah i thought about leaving it off. but i do use it from time to time. i am thinking of getting black acorn nuts and putting them over the holes on the battery cover. I do like the cover with no band

thanks. it took no time at all for the horn and bracket. I am not sure why I got the trigger finger on the band though. Kept sayin. ohhh just a little more and then some silver would show, and sprayyyyy. then ohh why is silver still showing. well its showing because it running all over the place.

I suck at painting. lol. need more practice

Damn bro we think alike! im in the process right now of blacking out my primary and derby cover. I took them off the other day, sanded and cleaned the primary, used some self-etching primer and sprayed it. I had to do the work thing last night so i let it cure (IN THE HOUSE BECAUSE THE WIFE LOVES THAT) I took it out just a little bit ago and lightly hit the primer with some 320 grit and put my first 2 coats of gloss black. I will get some pics and post them. You definitely have to use patience "Daniel Sun" when doing the spray boom and sand in between coats for a good look.

My derby cover-scrathed-scrathed and scratched-Im going to try bed liner on it for toughness and contrast

Sanded in between coats

and heres after the the 3rd and 4th coats and this is were im at right now

Next i will sand again with 2000 grit and spray again-then wet sand and start my clear coats

Sounds like ya just rushed ur coats and sprayed too wet...

Try spraying your 1st 1-2 coats near powder dry... Alittle more space between the nozzle and your surface. They wont cover well but letting those coats dry then starting your `wet` coats helps a whole lot. Theyll dry fast... about 2-3min each.
