Well, some of us ride faster than others. Anyone that's ever had one of these bikes come unhinged in a hard Hi speed corner understands just how important ,dampners,tru-tracs,good shocks, and proper suspension set up can make you safer and faster. Without it,riding hard can get you hurt, quickly.

Keep buying chrome, I'll stick to actually improving my ride. Function overrides form any day of the week for me.

I'm running this damper, works well but doesn't come in black so I rattle can sprayed it. Would have powder coated but BKRider.com doesn't have any seals nor can I find out what sort of fluid it requires. But is small and indiscreet and painted fine. As for function, I can easily move the damper up and down the shaft very quickly and easily, half way thru clicks tightens it up about right for my likes, taking the clicks to the furthest, hence the stiffest setting makes it tough to move up and down the shaft except rather slowly. Just saying how well the damper seems to work with plenty of adjustment based on your desires. Install was a simple and quick process but have extra washers available cause at least on my setup I needed 3 more than shipped with the unit.

Steering Damper - is a damping device designed to inhibit an undesirable, uncontrolled movement or oscillation of a vehicle steering mechanism, a phenomenon known in motorcycling as wobble, or in extreme cases, a tank-slapper.

Dampner / Dampener - eggs bought by sentient rabbits to celebrate the resurrection of the mythical alien of the Christianity mythos.

I've never owned a bike that needs one, especially a cruiser. I've done track days on my '03 R6 and '05 RC51 and even pushing them I've never had an issue with front end wobble. I couldn't imagine a cruiser ever needing one, especially with the rake on these bikes compared to the aggressive geometry on newer sport bikes.

Most racing clubs like wera require a damper on bikes .
