This trick will not work; pictures below show the difference in lenght between the FXDP/V-Twin shaft and a Softail shaft (dimension and machined grooves)....
and the shape of the part where the shifter rod is fitted...
I slid stock Softail shifter levers to the FXDP rod; splines do match but...
....inner shifter lever cannot be secured by the bolt due to the lack if inner groove; outer lever threaded hole does not match with machined groove on FXDP/V-Twin splined shifter rod so bolt doesn't fit in outer as well.
Finally: levers are not centered to the floorboard

chiming in I got an fld
don't bother with a police "defender" shifter it wont fit either
the early FL one pieces they dont work either
softail with boards model the lever arm is too short but this is what I am going to try next anyways. I will cut and weld my FLD arm on to the softail shaft.
I have had a lot of trouble and spent a lot of money and I am no where closer to having this work
would have been easier to make the whole thing from scratch
hope this helps

The only bad thing about using the FLD setup is that they don't have a heel toe shifter available, and one of the other guys might chime in but the shifter rod might be too short to allow the extra length needed. I did a search and found this. http://www.debrix.com/Heel-Toe-Shift...21-0326-vt.htm you might want to write to them to see if you can make this work on your scoot

I would think that the easiest way would be to use a complete factory FLD set up and modify the shifter lever by adding a heel shifter to it. A little creative welding and an extra lever should be all that is needed. That being said you may want to try the set up without the heel shifter, you may be happy with just the boards and the regular shifter.
