Default True track on '12 FXDC? With HD oil cooler?

Any one have any input on this?i read something about pre 09 frames needing the true track. Did they change something from 09 on? I'm also thinking about adding an HD oil cooler. Looks like they changed the design though, to mount on the frame tube. Maybe I'm wrong. Basically I want to know if I should go with the true track while my bike is apart or will I not need it? And if yes will it work with HD's oil cooler?

I'm planning on getting an oil cooler. I was told to look at coolers that have a thermostat that turns the cooler off during cold weather. Whichever brand you get make sure it has a thermostat. Of course it depends on your environment...up north you may not need a cooler.

If you go with the horizontal oil cooler, you may have some issues with the True Track as they use the same mounting holes in the engine if I remember correctly. If the oil cooler is vertical and mounted to the frame, no issues. I have that version.

Sputhe claims can mount a horizontal oil cooler on their version.

If you are referring to the following HD oil cooler,
Premium Oil Cooler Kit for Dyna® Models: see below for description

then whether you choose to mount the True-Track bracket or the Sputhe bracket there is no difference. The front bracket of either model mounts direct to the isolator as does the oil cooler:

The True-Track mounts in front of the oil cooler and provides long enough stainless steel bolts to compensate for an oil cooler install. Minor modification may be necessary.

Harley has a new side mounted oil cooler that mounts on the cow bell side down tube. That may be the way to go!
Its in the 2012 parts book. They have two kinds now for Dynas, the old bottom mount and the new down tube side mount.
