Default wheels bearings question

i know i might get ripped for the search, but i did do one and found out about removing them and such but not answering my thought. and i would look in my manual but dont have it or maintenance book with me in afghanistan. so bear with me please...

looking to find the stock wheel bearing of my 2007 fxdc. i am looking at wheels that say they are for my ride with specs of front is 19 x 2.50 inches, has 25mm bearings and a floating rotor and rear wheel is 17 x 4.50 inches has 25mm bearings and a standard rotor.
the size of wheels looks good, but curious about bearing size? is that my stock bearing size, does that matter and if so for what?
thank guys and again i apologize cause these answers are prob in my books... but your knowledge always appreciated!

I'm pretty sure all the 07's had 1 inch axles. But you just need to buy 1 inch I.D. bearings and put them in your new wheels. You can get them at HD or just take the old bearings in to any bearings store local and they can mic them and give you and exact equivalent. They don't cost much. I think all the newer HD wheel bearings are sealed instead of having a dedicated seal separate. So you would need to buy the sealed type. Again they will match what you bring in at the bearings store and you can also request a higher quality bearing also.

Yes the '07 came with 1" axles and yes you can replace the 25mm bearing with a 1" bearing, but the stock '07 bearings are wider and sturdier than the later 25mm bearings (21 mm double row vs 15mm single row) and I would recommend you stay with the stock wider bearing if possible, as the narrow bearings have been failing. You need to get in touch with the manufacturer and find out if the wheel accepts the stock '07 wider 1" x 21mm x 52mm bearings, otherwise you will have to go with an after market narrow 1" x 15mm x 52mm bearing.
