primary drain plug
#31
It's a 2004 Wide Glide. I looked real close with a mirror (don't have a lift) and it definitely looks like a torx. A T-27 will grip until you put pressure on it to loosen, then it just turns. Planning to go to the dealer on Saturday, buy a new plug and try some of the suggestions on here to get the old one out.

Drain Plugs
When you get the plug out, you need to do to the Harley shop or any hardware store and get a regular bolt to replace it with. My primary drain has a magnet on the plug so that you know if things are going south. If it is possible to get the one from Harley then that is your best bet. If not, just get a bolt with the same thread pitch and length. I personally wouldn't go through this more than once.

Just checked the primary drain plug on my 05 FXDL and its a T-30 torx. The drain plug on my 02 FXD is a T-40 torx, it's not the stock case either. But, the plugs are torx and are pipe thread plugs. I'd b uy two plugs one for the case and one to take to a hardware store and ask the questions of best removal tools and/or methods. Just my 2 cents.
