Question Dyna Battery Cover Holes: What Size?

Can someone tell me what size the holes are in the Dyna battery cover, the ones that the silver (or Chrome, or whatever, …) band clips onto?

I don't have the bike here at the moment to check for myself, but I hope to be getting it back in a few days, and I want to get some screws to fit a bag to the cover.

Thanks.

Nige: An 8mm drill goes through but not a 8.5. Dunno what that might be in old money but get some 8mm (or less) bolts and you'd good.

Hey, thanks Rich. That'd be 5/16" then (7.9ish mm). That's great, exactly what I needed to know.

Cheers mate.

I'm going to fit a BAD&G Customs battery cover bag:

I know what folks are going to say: "just measure the holes in the bag". Well, I did , and a 5/16" just goes through. But I didn't want to get 5/16" screws then find that they don't quite go through the holes in the battery cover. I don't want to modify the cover in any way, in case I want to take the bag off again and put the trim band back on.

Now to get that bike back.

Half inch quarter 20's with nuts and washers is what I used. Same bag.
