Default V&H 2012 Pipes

I own a 2012 Street Bob and I was told that V&H does not makes pipes for '12 yet. I was looking for staggered short shots in black. I heard that the reason for this is because HD changed the size of the O2 sensor. Does anyone have any insight on this? Is that the only change?

That is in fact the only change. I ordered a Bassani pipe for my street bob and there is no part number for the 2012 yet, I had to call Bassani and have them ship me some bung adapters to fit the new O2 sensors. V&H may be able to do the same for you.

Just curious, what is the effect of eliminating the O2 sensors all together? I assume the sensor ports can be plugged. Would a tune eliminate any issues? I am new to that and I'm not sure how that works.

It depends on the tuner. I believe some of them dont use the sensors so you can just plug them. I went with a SERT so the dealer machinist made me some adapters for my VandH Big Shots.

The tuners will be different for the 12s too? I was hoping HD didn't change anything in that respect.

I dont think the tuners are any different. That would be like saying if you put a big bore kit on a 98 that you would have to buy an all new tuner. Most tuners have enough flexibility to adjust for motor mods. My SE tuner which is for a 2011, works fine on my 2012 103 Fat Bob.
