The QD looks like the one that came with my bike. Bolted to clamps. Hangs nicely on garage wall.

Looks like you may need a headlight rim or lid to avoid glare on your shield at night.

Yep! You can do that in Texas! Now, here in Michigan where the temperature is 29 degrees right now......

Rarely use it but I have a Memphis Shades Rio Grande sport shield waiting in the garage just in case.
