Just an update.

I called the HD stealership and have a test ride set up for Monday, two bikes.

Wide Glide and the Street Glide. One I can afford and the other is a bike I want....hehe.

Should I try a Street Bob? Is there a big difference between the 96 and 103 engine? That is the main reason I said the WG, plus the longer raked front end.

Thanks

Good luck, let us know what you decide. The 103 wouldn't be a deal breaker or maker for me. 2k to spend on stage 1 or 2 stuff for a 96 would probably make more difference. I'm assuming there, don't know for sure. The 110 option though (insert tim the tool man taylor laugh here).

Had a 1990 XLH for 20 years and graduated to a 2010 FXDB and the is a HUGE difference in suspension. Don't feel the bumps near as much and rides very smooth. I don't have any other comparisons, but the Bob was a definite upgrade.

Give the SB a run... I do like the black WG.

I think of it differently... On solo rides I'll take my 2004 sporty any day over my 2010 Superglide. When I have my girlfriend on the bike I'd have to go with the superglide over the sporty. Now that the sporty is a chopper, I think I put more miles on it than the dyna... It helps that my chopper is faster than my stock dyna...But that's just me.

I bought a 09 Nightster, having had larger bikes I should have known better. The bike was quick, but it rode like a skateboard and bottomed too much and had no lean angle. I now have a 2011 FXDC, like night and day. Ride a new Superglide and see for yourself..

I just started riding this summer. My wife and I learned together and I bought a 2009 fxdc for me a 2007 883 custom for her. The fxdc feels much smoother to my 200lb frame and seems plenty agile even after i switched to forward controls recently. If you get a chance test ride the fat bob compared to the others. I would like to hear what you think.

I have the 1200S (longer travel suspension, adjustable). How would the ride on a Dyna compare with my bike? Just curious.
