Default new low rider windshield poll

Hi, I am looking for a windshield for my 07 low rider. Check out my gallery for pics of the bike. I have narrowed my decision down to four. Any feedback would be appreciated. Basicall I am looking for something to help with the wind and bugs but still look really good on the bike. Personally, I don't care for the hd shield on the low rider.

I do ride 40 miles to work one way at 70 mph. I have a full face and half helmet.

I have the HD low profile and it has worked great for me for 10,000 miles i've used it. Most of my riding has been on interstates averaging 80. I've read folks that have had trouble with some of theirs but i wouldn't trade it. The size is totally dependent on the size of the rider, do a search when you get a chance, lots of threads on it. Can't compare to other brands, only one i've had. I am impressed with its looks, durability and easy on and off.

I have to agree with Keith. I have the same on my Low Rider. I just got it a few weeks ago and planned to only use it on the freeway. It is the quick-detach but I haven't taken it off since putting it on[sm=smiley24.gif]

I mounted a Memphis Hellcat about 6 weeks ago on my 05 Super Glide...I'm old school so it took a friend giving me the dang thing and I was still not sure. Man what a difference in the ride and not too bad looking I probably run 5-10mph faster than I would and it extended my ride a minimum of 10 Dgrees colder than I used to. Still don't like the way it looks but will probably not take it off. I'm 55 and still not ready for the geezer look(in my mind) but am slowly coming around to comfort over style LOL

Not on your list, but Memphis Shades Rio Grande is what I have. Basically the same as the El Paso.
I would stay away from the Classic Deuce as it mounts the the handlebars.

Hi weigs don,t know if you recieved my E Mail so I will post a reply. I just installed a 14 in. windvest on my 06 streetbob. I also travel 82miles roundtrip to work. When i get off at 4 or 5 in the morning this thing is ablessing on the freeway. I can travel at75 and feel very comfortable in the ride. Iam a short rider at 5ft. 5in. The top ot the shield hits me at the bridge of my nose and I can see very clearly over the top. My riding partner has one on his lowrider and it looks real good . Hope this helps you make up your mind. RIDE SAFE 58nluvnit

I went with the Windvest because to me it's the best compromise between looks and functionality. It turned out to be a good choice once I got it adjusted to stop the helmet buffeting.I've made a few runs of 750 or better in a day so it's been thru the test.

Some other things that help. Tank lift, small bag at base of windshield on the tank side, reverse mirrors so they hang below handlebars.Do all this and you can run 85 to 95 all day without the wind bothering you.

Good Luck

Tom
