Default Mustang Solo Seat Owners (Low Rider)

Just got a new Mustang Vintage Solo seat on my 2008 Low Rider.
It seems like the seat sits higher and farther back than the stock seat.
Which is good for me as I am 6' 1". One thing though it seems like the seat
has an odd angle for what I would assume is a small backrest. It seems when I sit on it my rear end is kind of stuck in the between the bottom and the back.
Any body know what I am talking about????????

On a side note it seems that my low rider really isn't any lower than a standard Dyna, it just has a lower seat!?!?!

I got the very same seat on my 08 Street Bob, and I'm sure you'll love that little "odd angle" (= extra support) after a while. Just give yourself a little to time to get used to it.

I bought/installed Mustang solo on my '03 and love it. I'm also 6-1 and everything fits and is comfortable. Way better than the OE 2-up seat! I put a fender-bib behind it. (photo shows pillion, but I forgot it was only resting on fender.....stayed in driveway when I went for ride...lol)

Hmmm....stumbled upon this thread, as I am getting ready to purchase one of these for my Lowrider. What are the fender bibs for? And my bike has a two up seat on it now and the front solo seat hole is empty....Do I leave the insert in the rear and buy one for the front? Or do they move easily?

A bib is a fender cover behind the solo seat. My Mustang solo came with a nut that installs in an unused hole for securing the seat-tang at the rear. The bib uses that same nut and the nut that secured the OE 2-up seat.

The fender bib is a decorative cover for your fender when you use a solo seat. It offers some scratch protection and covers the yoke on your "throw over" saddle bags, if you have any. I believe the new Mustang seat came with an extra insert. If you do need to move your insert from back hole to front, thread the insert over a zip tie and stick the end of the zip tie up thru the bottom of the fender and thru the hole. I had a HD plastic plug that was on my '08 low rider that I moved to the back hole. If you use the fender bib you use two inserts. I didn't care for the way the fender bib looked, I think the fender looks cool uncovered. I thought the Mustang seat was oustanding! It has sort of a back rest, which you can see in the pick. When you excelerate quickly you have a tendency to slide off the back of a solo seat. Not so with the Mustang. It is pretty firm, but really confortable. I bought the "vintage" solo seat. They have a larger, wider seat but it doesn't look good on a Dyna.

BTW, the sig pic was when the previous owner owned the bike and had a solo seat. Does the vintage solo seat give that "down in the bike" feel? I like that part, just need a wider seat for more comfort.

The Mustang seat actually moves you up and back. I think the low rider is identical to a regular Dyna except that the stock seat is about an inch lower and father forward than the stock seat on other Dyna's. I A/B it with my buddies Dyna Custom and came to that conclusion. I could be wrong though, maybe some one here knows for sure. That being said I did like the riding position with the Mustang seat much better than with the stock seat. I don't think a Dyna can give you that "sitting in the bike" feeling like say my Heritage as it is not that kind of bike. Though the stock seat got it as close as possible to that sensation.
