Default Forward to Mid Controls - 2004 FXDL

I just picked up a 2004 FXDL (with under 1000 miles!) that has forward controls. My legs are way too short for the forward controls (29" inseam on a good day). What do I need to purchase to make the conversion to mid controls??

See pics for current setup:

From what i can see, all you need is the foot rest for the shifter side , as you can reuse the shifter arm, for the brake side you will need the foot rest and shorter brake rod and brake pedal.Looks like your bike had mid controls and was converted.

Turns out the original owner did retain the mid controls hardware.

Forward controls are history. Took an extended ride with the mids installed and it is VERY comfortable for me.

I am a happy camper!

Dirknar, if you are interested in the forward controls, drop me a PM...

Adjustable hwy pegs work great with mid controls , if you ever need to stretch out for a few minutes. The adjustables from HD work well because they can be used in 3 different settings . I have mine set up for the shortest reach possible. Nice on the long trips. Good luck with your O4. I had an 04 at one time as well. You should really like it.

An '04 FXDL with fewer than 1000mi is a great find! Looks good. Nice White-Walls.

I love my mid-controls. When riding aggressively I like the balance that they provide. That being said my highway pegs are awesome. And on colder days my legs get warmed up better when stretched out around the motor.
