This is the Spray on bed liner. I used it on my Sportster. Not an exact match to the wrinkle black on the cases of my Dyna, but close enough.

It is very durable and holds up well. I went down on that bike and even though the primary cover had a hole in it as big as my index finger, no paint was chipped off execpt where the peg had gone through the primary cover. It's very strong stuff.

On my primary though I sanded it very well with 800 grit then layed down some high temp primer before shooting the bed liner.

i have been using the Plasti-Kote, as well as the Rustolium style rattle can bed liner on a few different things over the past few years it's been out. Everything from to atv parts, to off road atv stereo sound systems, painted plastics, PVC, speaker grills, ect...from my experience the Rustolium isn't quite as thick and textured, where the plasti-Kote is thicker, and gives you more of the bed liner look. just my findings so far.

now to motorcycle parts, lol! one key thing is PREP WORK to the surface, as well as drying time!

the bed liner sticks better to a surface that is scuffed up or sanded some how! i have not painted over chrome (yet) with it. that is my next idea for my shocks! and when i build a speaker system for atv's i will prep the PVC with emory cloth (sandpaper), a pretty rough grit, about a 300 grit, usually between 2-3 coats for a good texture, then 24-48 hours of cure time at least! i have had great success with that routine!!

the last thing i painted was my aluminum (sauce pot) A/C cover. i stripped the coating of the pot off with a wire wheel, then scuffed it up with some emory cloth, and layered about 3 coats on, and here is the end result.

pic 1 is before any bed liner, 2 &3 are the finished product.
