But be advised all wide glide wheels are not exactly the same. If you use a OEM harley wide glide wheel it should work perfect with the OEM wide glide axle and spacers(20mm & 26mm), BUT some after market wide glide hubs are not offset like OEM H.D. and will require two equil size 7/8" spacers(22.225mm). I have a 16x3.5 wheel & 150 tire up front. You can go wider on the front with a 18".

BTW: I have a set of stock 06 streetbob triple trees that have fresh new black powdercoat listed on ebay right now if anyone wants the black trees without going wide. They are not the ugly integrated riser type. Anyone from this forum gets free shipping.

Picture comming tomorrow about mid day.

I have been searching the idea of a wide glide front on my street bob, I am confused about one thing. are the fat bob trees the same as the wide glide trees, except for the rake of the wide glide? also I have an opportunity to get some fat bob trees just want to make they will work for this wheel

Slotted Six-Spoke Wheel - Textured Black Part number :43925-07

Yes, same width as the WG but without the rake - I have a set on my (ex) Super Glide.

Default Fat front end on St Bob

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/membe...ob-fender.html

Kept the St Bob lowers and single disc. 16 inch wheel off e-bay. Make sure you get 1" or 25mm axle. Had to get the spacer kit for the wide tire. Bad part is fender has to be drilled to fit, as HD wanted to ensure we spend as much money as we possibly can. Spoked wheel runs a bit off center and still need to adjust to center. Doesn't affect handling.

Yes you can do it, go for it.
H.D. wheel part 43925-07 is a wide glide wheel. It will work perfect with Fatbob trees the only thing you will need is the correct wide glide axle and spacers. I bought a wide glide axle and it included the spacers. Your stock lowers and brake components will all fit perfect.

I'm not sure if your stock front fender fits a 21", I trashed mine. If it is tall enough you will need to install some spacers in between the lowers and the fender to make up that extra width. Even a few washers on each side would work.

Brakes and fender will work with the same shimming I did below.

From a hardware store: 3/4" spacers and 3/4" longer stainless Allen head bolts for mounting the fender, and stainless washers for shimming (.040" for the caliper & .090" for the rotor) to center the caliper over the rotor.

Use other existing hardware from your bike (axle nut and washer, triple clamp pinch bolts, head bearings nuts and washer, fender nuts, forks, etc.).

I bought the parts from
Zanotti's
back in June of 06.

Here are the Harley Davidson part numbers and Zanotti prices:
P/N 46700-06 Upper Triple Clamp.....$ 65.75
P/N 46386-06 Lower Triple Clamp....$139.83
P/N 40923-06 Front Axle..................$ 28.39
P/N 40926-06 RH/FRT Spacer.............$ 4.58
P/N 40927-06 LH/FRT Spacer.............$ 4.58
Total..$243.13

Update: 4/3/08
Axle spacers above are also available in a chrome tapered version P/N 41410-06 Chrome Tapered Front Wheel Spacer Kit $23.51

Original Wide Glide tire replaced with only 7,300 miles on it (Not much tread left). Replaced it with a Avon Venom AM41 90/90-21, widest tire (3.70") I could find that will fit the Wide Glide Profile rim.
