What kind of prep work did you do before painting the wrinkle paint? Sand? Prime?

I sanded it pretty good; there is sort of a lacquer finish on the metal.

Krylon recommended a primer, but didn't require one.... so I didn't.

So... we'll see. Looks good so far...

I just powder coated my battery cover trim last night with wrinkle black, i also did the oil cap and the factory derby cover. I still have the Chome flamed cover on my bike cause i didn't get around to changing it back yet. I will be powder coating my cam, primary, and trans covers next oil change. I'm thinking of doing the black parts on my air cleaner and my horn cover but haven't decided yet.

Just hit mine with the rattle can as well. I think it's a little better look.

Take a smaller flat head screwdriver and take out the dip stick, there is a seperation between the metal cap on top and the platstic assembly. Carefully work your way around the cap with the scew driver the pop it off. My dad actually did all the powder coating, he all the stuff in this batch was a pain cause he couldn't hang any of it. This wrinkle black powder from Eastwood, looks EXACTALLY like the harley stuff. I want to do my whole motor eventually but thats opening a hure can of worms on perfect running bike thats not even a year old.
