Default What paint for heat shields?

Lot's of options out there...

Is it the 500 degree range or the 1200 degree range?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

If your looking for rattle can paint, go to ur local auto joint and get "VHT" (very high temp) they have ceramic coating for headers, that would do the best.
And possibly some grill paint, but imo, get the highest temp possible.

Either should work on the heat shields. I would go with the VHT though, just to be sure. I painted mine with the high temp grill paint though, as that is what I had laying around, and it is holding up great so far. I powdered the shields on the stock exhaust, and it held up great too. Whichever you decide, prep is ALWAYS the key...

Look in my pictures. I powdered my stock heat shields, when I was running stock. Looked good to me.

My stock heat shields are just rattle-canned with plain old Satin Black (don't remember the brand) -- not high heat.

They are holding up fine so far (about a month). I'm not recommending it because I don't yet know how they'll do long-term but, for me, heck I'm happy with it. I think the key is in the prep.

Heck, my wheels are rattle-canned gloss black and they look great to me.

I like that. I think I'll be tackling that this weekend now.
