How I think a set of Dyna True Duals should look!
#22
Hi blueangel73,
You have come up with a great rendition of a crossover set of pipes for the Dyna Models. Samson has considered making the true dual crossovers for the Dyna models but we are having an issue with the left side muffler mounting that will not fail under severe riding conditions. We will keep you all posted when we do come up with a proper left side muffler mount.
Thank you,
JR

I'm no expert on the subject, but i remember reading something about needing to keep the pipes relatively the same length for performance. straightened out that front pipe would be nearly twice the length of the rear. it would be the equivalent of running one normal pipe, and one drag pipe. you'd never do that, so why this?
I could be wrong, but I think if they kept the front cylinder pipe on the right and fed the rear pipe over to the left (basically, the opposite of what the OP did), it would help to even out the length.

I sure hope that Samson is able to com up with something that works!
I have been looking at installing a touring style fender that has the notch cutouts for the bag/muffler supports on the bigger bikes. I know that there ideally a dual exhaust system that could be installed without any other major mods (someone wants to keep a chopped or stock fender). But, if I were to install a touring stle fender, would it be possible to use the bag/mufflet supports that come from where the notch is located as a source of additional support. Essentially makeing both muffler ends connect across the fender for support while using some kind of dampener to reduce stress on the fender. The fender below is something like what I am talking about.

It's not about achieving a bagger look on a Dyna anymore then a Softail achieves a bagger look with true dual. I like the look of true duals, I think that with a Dyna lowered in the rear and not in the front is just the start of a look that is much like a slammed 50's hot rod. And having true duals on the bike would greatly helps that look. As far as I can tell allot of us Dyna owners have a Dyna because its a hot rod in it's own since.
