got my bike, but ...sigh
Hey guys,
as some of you are aware, several weeks back i was medevaced from afghanistan.
I am currently at BAMC in San Antonio, Anyway, last weekend i went home for the first time and had my street bob delivered, i was extatic about it, read up on the manual a little bit and spent a long time just admiring it. well i went to ride it, but i guess that wasn't the plan for me.
Suffered a TBI and don't have all my coordination back so i wasn't able to shift gears. Guess it'll be a little longer before i get to ride her.

I suffered a TBI in Aug 2005. Got my hog in December 2005 as I figured I better get it while I still have the chance. Been riding the hog since then and other bikes for many years before. Give yourself some time to recover. It took me about 3 months to be able to almost function like a normal person. Lots of rest. I repeat...lots of rest.

thanks guys
the docs have said that it'll basiclly be just like learning to ride again, so i may go off and do another MSF course to get used to it.
I got all this stuff laying in my garage waiting to be put on the bike (pipes, ac, handlebars) BUT I CAN'T EVEN RIDE THE THING YET! ARGH!
oh well, life's a bitch.

Welcome back...
Hey Brother
I just got back from Afghanistan myself end of April. I am picking up my Fat Bob end of Sept.
I really recommend that you take the MSF course again when you are able. I took it in August and I have been riding for over 2 decades. With my head and body being abused by my last tour, it really did feel like starting over. Dont be shy about it, just do it!
Our local American Legion does the MSF courses for military (and civilian) and they are all vets who know what the deal is. You might want to look into that in your area...
Be patient, get healed up, and ride when you are ready.
Funny thing about TBI they say not to think about anything and rest....That is two things we just dont do well!
Be cool, PM me if you like.
