I think the term is overused and done to death. The bikes from the early days didn't look like most the bikes that claim to be "old school" these days.

Some day an air cooled engine linked to a six speed transmission will be old school.

For now on instead of old school let's use the phrase "vintage"

I myself would like to make my bob look "vintage" so I will be keeping most of my chrome and Polished aluminum.. I agree the PC has gotten a bit out of hand for a "vintage" look

Only mode of transport held together with baling wire and guts. Just keep er running. Magneto? Kicker? No front brake. Rigid and she cleaned it...

I don't think there's anyone here that would say there's anything 'old school' about blacked out bikes......There's nothing new about it either. Long before the Street Bob there was the Sturgis.

One thing you might want to consider... What's old school to a 30 year old guy, and what's old school to a 65 year old guy are probably going to be a lot different.
