hi foxter ,can you tell me how long that took to fit ? there seems a lot of parts &
do you know of a replacement air filter for the stock A/C that would give similar results in increased air flow ,
Hi, mate. Took about 30 mins to fit. Its actually a piece of ****. If you go for it and need any help or advice then just shout.
You aren't going to be able to get enough flow with the stock air cleaner because of the design of the back plate and casing. Its designed more to restrict air flow than encourage it. I'm afraid you really will need to replace it if you want to do a stage-1.

I fitted an SE filter to my Dyna, which retained the external chrome cover. The restrictions that Foxster refers to are achieved with the black plastic back-plate, which creates both an air filter housing and inlet silencer. The SE one is a simple backplate with K&N style filter, with fully exposed circumference, not unlike the S&S.
I liked the S&S teardrop so much I bought an entire motor with one....
I have the S&S cover on my SB. The only real problem that I encountered was with the filter. I had to get a 3" K&N air filter and stand-off screw extensions to keep the chrome cover from hitting my gastank.
Both V-Twin and Licks make a copy for a lot cheaper than the S&S and S/E. I have the V-Twin. I think the S&S is a better product but I wanted to at least show you the V-Twin on a bike.
