Default $1,129 to install bars?! - Dealership

So I asked a guy to make me some bars for my '11 Fat Bob so I could get them installed when I got my bike from the dealership. They quoted me $379 for extended cables and $750 for labor... $1,129 to get $180 bars put on?!

Anyways Im going to try to get some burley cables and find a smaller shop to slap these bars on. So I'm gonna get 1" Risers and these bars are about 10" tall. Would these 12" cables be ok you think?

http://www.jpcycles.com/product/512-414

Its says for single disc brakes only but lists 11 Fat Bob as a compatible model? any thoughts?

Stock cables should be good for 10" bars most likely.

$750 in labor?????

That is like 10 hours....WTF?

Get the service manual for $60, and do it yourself.

It's an easy job do it yourself. Running wires thru those bars may suck alil, they did with gimps but a six pack an a shot of jack or 3 helps

Feeding the cables through, transferring the controls, wiring them, connecting everything, exhaust removal for the clutch - it takes a while. This was debated on another thread too.

It may take a while, but it don't take THAT long...I paid 250 labor for the ol lady's apes to be internally wired and installed. As a matter of fact I didn't pay but 650 for everything, bars included from my local indy.(I usually do all my own work, but I was working too much and she wanted it done "yesterday" and if momma aint happy, NOBODY is happy!!)

hahah, yeah the bars aren't dimpled so they'd have to cut holes in them for the internal wiring. I'm definitely not trying to do this myself though.

So I got one "Stock cables long enough" from the Doc. Anybody else?
