Default Tire question, Dunlop VS Michelin

A lot of the 2012 models, including the FXDWG which I got changed from Dunlops to Michelin Scorchers as stock tires.

I know I have read both good and bad about the Michelins but are they better than the Dunlops? Must be a reason for the stock change?

When H-D have done this type of change before, will the new "standard" tire for my older model also be the Michelin or will they continue to push the Dunlops?

I like the michelins on my new dyna, they handle much better then the dunlaps I had on my sporty. We'll see what kind of miles I get out of them.

I just picked up and had the Metzler 880. It seems to track a lot better and the bike feels better than the dunlop. I'm looking forward to see if it wears better than the dunlop.

I easily get 10,000mi on my scorchers... Of course I pushed the last set to 15,000mi. I've got 9,000mi on my second set.

Metz get eaten up from what I have seen, Dunlop has good and very bad tires, read up on which Dunlops are keepers.
