Default Replaced Stock Seat, how to fix paint?

I took the stock seat off my 01 fxdwg and put on the badlander, looks much better, but where the old seat was touching paint on the rear, it is "foggy" and dull etc. Anyone have any tricks to fix the paint? I was think a rubbing compound but dont want to do anything until I know if itll be okay or make it worse.

Wetsand and buff. Use no paper coarser than 2000 grit. 3000 is best if no major imperfections. Harley puts plenty of clearcoat on but if your no confident pay someone a few bucks to do it. Burn thru and your repainting!

If its only the clear that's damaged, I've had good results with the HD Swirl and Scratch Treatment. You really have to rub the hell out of it and may take several applications, but its gotten some pretty bad looking stuff out of my clear... and its only $6 for a bottle!

I'd just start with buffing to see where that gets you, harley's clear is very soft and tends to buff out pretty easily

Appreciate the advice. I'll try the Harley swirl remover which I'm sure is similar to maguiars products. It's def just on the clear coat.

I picked up maguiars ultimate compound, it did a real good job, almost cant even see it anymore, noone else would notice it, you have to get up real close.
