so when you put the tach and speedo up top what becomes of your empty console? The bars that Death Squad makes are pretty dope, real beefy 1 1/4" tubing. Kinda spendy but they make solid stuff.

On the FXDX Sport the indicator lights, are all mounted in the Tach/Speedo bracket, which is retained either with the Accutronix Bracket John posted pics of or by having Westcoast install mounting bungs on the T Bars that you order. ( You select height of bungs at time of order )

Hey JohnC FXDX,
How high can the OEM Tach/Speedo go up before you run out of slack on the OEM wiring for the Tach/Speedo and Indicator Lights?

I was wondering if I the wiring would be long enough without extending wires to fit at the top of the 10 inch MX T Bars which would be about 8 inches up from the factory location?

I still have a tach. The FXDL tank console has speedo and tach, but all the parts for the swap are tricky to come by.

I have the Harley street slammers and I think they are only 7". I can bring the gauges all the way to the top.

I want to stick with the higher mounted tach/speedo combo. Although I have no issues with tank mounted items I just prefer the gauges more inline with my field of vision. Granted it looks cleaner the way you did yours. This build is all about the function not so much for looks.

Thats good to know. thank you. That gives me enough slack to go at least as tall as Good Apollos setup and have the mounting bungs welded at the very top of the risers. I kinda want 10 inchers though but the 9 inchers good Apollo has sure do look proper, and if my tach/speedo/dash wiring will reach the top of the 9 inchers I may go that route. I will check wiring slack and see if I can get 8 inches of stretch out of them.

I could always go with 10 inchers and have the bungs welded 1 inch below the riser top.
Much Appreciated Fellas.

Were you able to use the stock cables etc? This is whats stressing be out... I have an 02 FXDX and I'm pretty sure the only thing I'll have to do is lengthen the Tach/Speedo wires... I really really dont want to do a new brake line... I'm going for the 10"...
