remove the switch housings, loosen the throttle jam nuts and release pressure on the lines, remove the lines from the right grip (watch those little ferrules), the grip should just slide off....
Soooo... how do you get the right grip off?
OK, so the throttle is not a friction fit like the left grip. Makes sense.

I have a hacksaw blade that I ground the teeth off of that will slip between the grip and the bar. Get it started and spray in a little WD40 as you go. Once you get it started, it should come right off. Wash and dry the grip real good, use some grip glue and put it on the new bars.
Right side requires taking the housing apart and taking the throttle cables out of the grip.

Bill

Stock Harley left grip comes right off after you remove the clamps (a little twisting motion).
Right grip does the same after the clamps are removed, and cables detached (grip falls off).
Check out the manual.

Like others have said, use compressed air, stop at your dealer, they'll do it for nothing, it takes 2 seconds. As for reusing the grips, you can buy a new set of stock grips for $25 (also, your dealer probably has a box of old used grips lying around that they would love to get rid of), so I wouldn't panic if they get wrecked.

I just loosened the clamp and it came right off. There was no adhesive on mine. Saved my old grips. Installed the new ones. Still no adhesive. The clamp holds them securely. I am glad they clamp. My Kawasaki's grips just slid on, and even with adhesive they would break loose.
