Installed the hd wide pillion a few weeks ago me and the other half did about 175 miles with no problems behinde me things are looking up.

Well no sense in knocking it as a cheep fix, if it's work'n............Kudos to ya for get'n her involved with the joys of ride'n.

 

I like that, I did not even know they made one of those. How much bigger is it than the stock pillion? The stock pillion is a torture seat.

Does that part install with the stock pillion mounting holes and hardware?

 

I cant figure out how YOU are able to ride 175 miles on the stock seat. Pitch that thing and get a real seat, you want be sorry.

 

Yup, I have the same one it fits the stock mounts and stock driver seat. Best part is buy the quick nuts (can turn with fingers) and you can take it on and off in no time. So when the wife is not ridin with me I take it off for the clean solo look.

 

How much wider is the seating area of that than the seating area of the stock pillion? Could you please measure them both?

 

Can't measure at the moment at work and don't have either seat but a good rough guess would be about 8" wide for the larger non stock pillion. I think the stock pass pillion as only like 4.5-5" wide plus this new pillion is thicker for more comfort as well. It not going to be like a touring seat but its lightyears better than the stock set up.
