Yeah, I did it. 7 inches off the muffler, and 3 off of the headers.

i agree it looks loooooooooooooooooong! ha its going to sound a little different but as far as power goes, i have a hard time believing goin from the massive 3 inch to the over massive 4inch ( guessing the inches) will make that big of a difference. i mean diesel trucks run smaller pipes sometimes. who knows. CUT IT UP!!!

+1 on that idea, would be easy enough and you might also be able to tilt upwards slightly to add a little clearance. Would only take about a 1/2" at that point to give you a couple extra inches of clearance at the tip.

Nice work, V&H should make a shorter version. Definitely looks better, to me anyway. Any noticeable difference in power / performance?

Thanks for the replies...another bike project has been keeping me busy, but after seeing the video, I've made up my mind I'm going to go ahead and chop is ASAP.

ok, no problem. I'm think I'm gonna have to pass on it...I think between buying your pipe, selling mine, and installing your's, I'd have just as much work invested as if I just cut mine down and turned a new end cap on the lathe. Plus, I'm kinda partial to black vs. chrome. Thank you kindly for the offer tho...good luck selling it.

EDIT: I see you have a propipe...do you have or want heat shields? I have a set of black ones for mine I'll never use...PM me.

Do you have any pictures? That is a nice job. I want to do that to my switchback. Take off the cat and shorten the slip-on.
