What rpm do you ride at? I've found that I like to kinda lug mine at about 2000 rpm . cause out sounds so much better than the popping sound of the higher rpms. My bike is super loud! Is it ok to do this?
I try to keep the bike from lugging as much as possible, I don't have a tach so i am not exactly sure what rpm I am riding at. I just go by sound nice steady engine noise and I figure I am good.
Is it possible that someone with a tach can make a little diagram:
Gear / Speed ~ RPM
Something like:
2nd gear 2500 RPM ~ XX MPH
2nd gear 3000 RPM ~ XX MPH
I realise that this is probably something that has been done and could be found by using Google, so please don't give me the Google it, idiot -treament.

Why is there popping at high rpm? Is there a tune problem?
I typically ride at 2500-2900 on the bagger. Probably hightler on the Dyna. At least that's what it sounds like...
I prefer 3-3.5K, it's a lot smoother on the highway in that range, when I'm on a longer trip I could care less about how good it sounds and more about how many vibes I'm getting. Around town I do care how it sounds, I keep it around 2k.
