This is some good info. I am at the point where I am going to start servicing my own bike, I can't afford the service cost!

I am currently running 20w50 synthetic in all three, it seems like many have had great experiences with the thicker gear oil in trans why does Harley recommend 20w50 then whats the advantage for them in doing that? I mean if the gear oil you guys speak of is better in everyway why would they not recommend that? Does it effect gas economy or something? I would doubt it, just skeptical I guess when Harley recommends otherwise not saying they are always right either.

Default Tranny Oil

Been running AmsOil Severe Gear for 8K ever since getting the original HD 20-50 out. The Transmission is definitely not as Clunky and Neutral is easier too. I'm sure Reline is Great.....but my Scoot seems happy enough with AmsOil 75-90.
Have no idea...other than convenience why HD promotes the 20-50 in all three holes.

Had a great time at Sturgis and the trip is always the best part.
