Yea just ordered the stator/rotor combo platter from Zanotti $203+ shipping vs. $281 from local dealer. My total came to $222.31. Not bad.
Bax,
Did you think about upgrading the compensator while you're in there? Might be worth considering?
Why? Don't tell me another design flaw?! My motor is stock Untill I blow it up so I may as well stick to factory **** as long as it works.... At least I'm getting some use out of the rediculous 20grand I speant at MMI
Nice, ordered from Zanotti yesterday and should be arriving tommorow. Looks like I'll be using them from now on. Saved me $60 and an annoying trip to the stealer.
My local dealer, who doesn't stonck anything at all, looked me straight in the face and said they have NEVER heard of this happening on the 06 DYNA's.... but yet, they still had all the parts I needed in stock... bastards.
I have read that some folks are welding the bolts on this setup to prevent them from backing out. Would JB Weld work in this situation?? I was going to haul mine apart before it blows up and do some preventitve maintance. Thanks guys.

You think Harley would have done a recall on this as it could be dangerous as hell having this come apart doing high speeds on the highway.
No recall because this was not considered a safety issue by the MOCO. I don't think anyone has ever crashed because of it.

Dealer is full of BS! Just search the forum for info on the stator/rotor problem on 06 Dynas.

JB Weld is GLUE. Either have the bolts welded, or buy the new stator/rotor combo with the one-piece rotor/comp spring assy.
