Don't get it what are you doing swing off the bars? I myself would rather have a bit of give in apes, I only hold my bars very lightly (guide the bike instead of pushing and pulling the bike around),,

Back to my point having some give in your apes my save your life one day having a head on with apes that have no give in them means you are going to take all the force directly on your chest or upper body, either way its a recipe for a world of hurt, with a bit of give you have at least some chance of clearing your bike without to much damage (maybe the bars fold over but thats it if your lucky, now I am not making this up I am talking from experience I have lost my left leg above the knee in a bike wreck trust me you never see it coming, I have been down a few times in my life and I am still here to talk about it having apes almost welded to you triple tree means you have to look at your bars and see what that next weakness point is thats the amount of force you will take on your body before they bend or break,

A lot of guys are running 1' 1/2 bars now thats going to take some amount of force to bend personally my chest, ribs, lungs, heart will come off second best in that fight,

Just my two cents,
