Not surprised I have never had a warranty problem with my Hd's.
At 11K my 2011 RGU started a small crack in left windshield mounting hole, deal ordered a new one no problem.
Pretty much how it always goes with warranty

You pay that much for something brand new then you expect to get something that looks brand new, no defects.
True enough, hard to say how I would have handled it, brand new bike and all. After re-reading the last sentence I think he meant because the tank was already off...

I think the OP has a point. You buy a new bike (or anything) and you expect quality control to ensure everything is perfect.

Ok, after a couple posts of support I feel like I can speak again. My goal isn't to f$&@ HD or anything. If it's new I want it new. As far as the stuff I want to do while the tank is off that's totally on me. To be honest I kinda want to "give back" to the dealer for helping me out with this. I know they have to "eat" the labor hours on warranty jobs so why not support them by buying some more parts to have them install. I FULLY expect to pay for labor of installing anything I buy.
Way I see it is I have a perfectly good excuse to spend more $$$ on the bike.

And for anyone who thinks I'm trying to just be a cheap *****... I'm gainfully employed and not looking for freebies. As I'm expected to provide a service when customers pay, I expect the same when I fork out the dough.
