Ok. Case closed. Rec'd the 4" x 1.5" pullbacks late Friday, installed in about 20 minutes Saturday. Stock cables were barely long enough, just had to pull out about a half inch of the brake line slack and the same on the right turn signal cable. Any more and they'd have been too short. $49, done. Sitting like a champ now. Rode about 80 miles on Sunday, in the rain, and it's like a brand new bike. Handles much more responsively, and, two key points....no back pain from sstretching forward that little bit and dealer BS was called out. DIY saved me what they wanted to charge about $1400 for. Thanks to all for the help and support. .....would have posted pics, but the weather sucks in FL these past few days and the garage is ruddy mess. Will follow up with pics on a nice sunny day.

Glad to see you got them on with no problems. As I said before, it's going to make a BIG difference in your comfort level on longer rides. Was one of my best (and cheapest) mods to make the bike more comfy. If you plan on doing some long range riding, you should look into adding air shocks next. Enjoy!

what about removing the grips? Does anyone know if that is difficult or easy?

typically don't have to remove grips when adding risers. individually, though, removing grips is a very easy job.

well I was thinking of how hard it would be to remove them in order to put on a drag bar or mini apes

Do you know where I could go to find out how to take them (the grips) off?
