Default Dyna Solid Motor Mounts

is there such a thing?

i keep reading about probs w/ rubber.. tru trac, is a 300$ adder.

used to run poly and solid on cars. is it viable on a newer Dyna?

who makes em?
what are the repercussions of using them?

Don't know if there is such a thing, but I personally wouldn't want them based on the '93Fat Boy I've been riding (solid mounted motor w/ no counterbalancing). It's pretty buzzy at certain RPMs which gets really old after a while.

There was talk that a particular company was planning to make urethane motor mounts for the Dyna's, but as far as I can tell they wanted more for the mounts than either the True Track or the Sputhe System costs. Honestly, its freakin' absurd you need to add a stabilizer system to make a Dyna perform worth a crap, but in the big scheme of things, $350 for a corrective part ain't that much. Most folks on this board spend double that on an exhaust system and triple that for a stage one performance upgrade. For me, the stabilizer system was just the cost of owning a pre-09 Dyna. Its really no different than the Evo guys having to install a cam bearing or the Twin Cam guys having to do tensioner shoes. Unfortunately, its just the cost of owning a Harley.

What did I miss? What changed in '09 that eliminated the need for a stabilizer on a Dyna?

True, there have been problems with the rubber mounts, either incorrectly installed at the factory with too much preload or just from age. Rubber wears out eventually. Replacing the mounts is not that expensive and you can get them set up right. You don't want to install a stabilizer unless the mounts are in good shape anyway.
You don't want a solid mounted motor, it will shake itself and you apart.
I don't see it as a reason not to buy a Dyna.

I do not know. In fact I may be incorrect. I am simply restating what others on this site have posted, and that is that the '09 and up Dyna's don't seem to suffer from the Dyna wobble like the pre '09 bikes because of design changes Harley made to the motorcycles. I have a 1996 and its on its 3rd set of motor mounts. Now I have the True Track.

I don't know of any frame change to the Dyna family since '06. You may be mixed up with the improvements that the MoCo did to the Touring frame in '09.

To the OP, sorry for the hijack, I remember a thread that started on this topic from 2 years ago. You might want to check out this thread.

My apologies also. And yes, that was the company I was referring too. As I posted in that other thread I did shoot them an e-mail asking questions. I also shot a PM to JRK5892 as well ( if theres one guy in the Dyna loop, its him). They never sent any kind of reply so I don't know what if anything they are doing. I think it was JRK who mentioned the potentially high prices as a reason nothing is available yet.
