I changed out my rear fender and it was pretty easy. I guess it all depends on how much of a project your willing to take on. I wanted something relatively simple so I went with a direct bolt on. The switchback would sure look sweet.

Vtwin Manufacturing makes dresser style fenders in different widths. I picked one up for my ride and it worked out ok.

Donzo--RockyMtnhigh is right. Its a Wideglide fender--100% bolt on or as my kids like to say...easy peasy. I like the looks of it. I added some progessive shocks and a lowering kit as well but I think it looks sweet and like I said...easy peasy.

Well, I just got my 2012 parts book and it seems there had been some misinformation out there - some of it straight from HD or so it seems. First off, all Dyna models (except the FB and WG) including the switchback have the same part number for the frame so clearly the struts are the same and either the 12 models have an increased steering head angle or the switchback literature is wrong. I also measured one in the shop with my brake drum gauge and it comes out at 7-15/16" and looking at the book the only reason for this I can see is the support brackets for the rear fender which tie into the rear bag mount. I think it could be widened and made to fit other models but it might be tough to keep the supports for the bag mount if you have a wide tire under there.

JPL17-

I see you live in AZ as well. I don't see a license plate light and also see your plate is mounted vertically. I just recently moved here and thought it was the law to have it horizontally and have license plate lights. Have you had any issues with the police? I just added a side mount plate and haven't figured out yet how to run the license plate lights and have been to chicken to go out at night since I don't need a ticket.
