Default lower front forks

on my 06 street bob the lower forks are the brushed aluminum looking finish. they have all these marks on them that wont come off. I've tried rubbing compound and all sorts of metal polish but nothing seems to work. any advise will be greatly appreciated

Painting or powder coating them would be my "advice."

They are already clear coated. Probably chips in the coating or oxidation underneath it.

Thanks bro. I want to do some black powder over the winter, although I am torn between leaving the lowers & strut covers with the brushed finish and just doing the trees and fork brace black or doing everything black. I need to buy photoshop.

Not exactly on subject but was wondering how many have lowered the front forks in the triple clamps and by how much? I was thinking of droping the front by 1/2 " to start. Don't do alot of canyon carving but don't want to lower too much. Any comments?

Mine are 1 inch above the trees. It leveled my bike out. I haven't had any issues.
