Nope, no crank work. They checked the run out and it was good. Scott (from Hillside) said they have alot of these builds out there and havent seen any problems with the stock cranks as long as the runout is good. Its a good thing because doing a darkhorse crank would have been expensive. If your runout is high on the stock crank they would probably tell you to get it worked though. I would ask this question over on the engine/fuel/intake/exhaust forum. Lots of knowledgeable guys over there and Scott is on there all the time.

wow the 107's have some good numbers. I may just go with a good 103 myself. id be happy with 100 torque and 100 HP. Don't really need any more. Good luck to the OP with his choice of builds . Looks like you have some great choices out there.

100/100 was my goal, too. The shop owner claimed that the Revolution Performance 107" upgrade would run cooler. Then he proceeded to talk me into the T-Man heads and cams, SE throttle body, 10.5 compression and a few other upgrades that made sense to do.

I must say that the engine does run cool and the power is there. On the other hand, the 103 can do the job if done right. I'm not too impressed with my dollar to HP gains compared to what I've seen posted. I'm particularly impressed with Fuel Moto's build after seeing their cost sheet and dyno results.

I can't speak highly enough about Jamie and the guys at Fuel Moto.
Here's a link to a thread about my 107 build from them: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...-complete.html
I spent a lot of time comparing prices and results before I made my decision. I think if you do enough research you will find it's pretty hard to beat $ vs. performance with Fuel Moto.
The other reason I went with Fuel Moto was their outstanding customer service, reputation, and knowledge of engine building. Well worth the drive and cost!

I am just running the stock setup at the moment with pipes and EFI box so I am not anywhere near the numbers you have even now. Good luck. Post results when you decide on your build.

107 doesnt cost any more than a 103 if you are buying quality pistons. Forged pistons in 103 or 107 should be about the same. Same jugs, just bored out a little more. IMO I wouldnt even think about a 103, they just dont seem to have the same grunt the 107's have.

There is something to be gained whenever you increase the bore. It is not just displacement but also unshrouding the intake valve for better breathing. The question of 103 vs 107 is not an easy one, it just boils down to whether you want to coordinate getting your barrels bored or just buy the 103 kit and bolt it on. Cost is similar. I had Hillside bore my barrels to fit a set of Wiseco pistons ending up with a 107 that I am extremely pleased with.

Stock take-off cylinders can be had pretty cheap on ebay. A lot of people go with the Screamin' Eagle 103" kits, then sell their stock-bore jugs. Get you a cheap pair of cylinders, a pair of pistons, have those cylinders bored and honed, have the ring gaps set (or file 'em yourself), then do the swap yourself with very little down-time (the time it takes to swap pistons and jugs).

You'll need to swap cams because you'll raise the compression ratio with the bigger bore. Valve events need to be adjusted to compensate for the higher compression, unless you compensate with dished pistons or something like that.

As far as the price-to-performance ratio no one I found beat Head Designs by Dewey: http://deweysheads.com/HDBD_home.html

See my sig line for outcome.
