i had an inspection on my bike because i bought it out of state at a highway patrol garage.he made me take a chrome neck cover off so he could see the vin,i showed him where the vin was on the vin tag,he said that meant nothing to him..only there to make it easier for a dealer or individual to see it..i was a cycle tech for 13 years, not many of them stickers survive the first week

Remove it forsure, I removed mine about a week after I got it. When you really think about it how long is that sticker going to last? Surely not the life of the bike, it is just that, a sticker. All the information on that sticker has got to be in a computer somewhere based apon your vin number.

Oh no - you will be arrested! The traffic cameras look for them!
Just kidding - I vote for removing them. It makes a big difference in cleaning up the frame.

My personal rules for my bike:
1. No stickers
2. No reflectors
3. No colors anywhere except black, including lenses
4. No flames
5. No skulls
6. No eagles

Just my opinion, but to me this has kept my bike clean looking.

Unless you reside in the united socialist republic of oregon, or go through washington a lot where the cops always hassle you about matching up numbers cause every bike there is stolen till its not. God I love Montana.

I don't know about the OP, but you guys have definately talked me into removing mine. Standby...

Edit: All done, looks better.

Word of advice- If wife follows you to the garage, send her back inside. She will ask a million questions about why you are removing them and comment that she never noticed them anyway and wonder out loud if it's really ok to remove them cause you might want to leave them bar codes on there in case it gets stolen...

Remove the stickers. Bike looks much cleaner without them.

Always thought about it but was unsure if they were needed. They'll be off tomorrow.
