Im running a sissy bar from a 2010 or 2011 wide glide.. it fits perfectly right from the stealership and is cheaper than even a pair of side plates... I think there is a pad for it as well if you're needing that...

Great Idea, What all did you have to have to mount the wide glide bar?

not much at all crimson... take the bolts out of the fender\strut, slide the sissy bar in and rebolt.... Now, your parts guy at the dealership MIGHT try to tell you that it wont fit... mine did... until he went and measured the fender\bolts himself then he sold it to me... was less than $100... I got the idea from a few guys here and knew that it fit... a little knowledge is dangerous haha

If the oem sissy bar for a wide glide works than the rack designed for the wg should work to. If it works you could have a sissy bar and luggae rack real cheap plus it looks to be low profile . here is the info on it
d. Chopped Fender Luggage Rack – Chrome*
This Luggage Rack is the ideal option for your ride across town
or across the state. Designed for the chopped rear fender, this
simple rack adds practical luggage space without compromising
style. Rear supports attach to the fender struts, and the
rack is secured to the passenger pillion mounting point on the
rear fender. Available in your choice of chrome or gloss black
finish, this rack is compatible with the Original Equipment
short upright or Detachable uprights and docking hardware.
Fits ’10-later FXDWG models.
54252-10
Gloss Black. $139.95

50300038
Chrome. $139.95
