PERFECT!!

i talked with the local bike/fab shop about something very similar (maybe not as tall). he mentioned doing the same thing about welding it to the fender rack, and the only issue i thought of was the seat.

i bought a factory 2 up seat to change out when the wife might want to ride (thanks to a HD forum member).

we (me and shop owner) didn't know how a passenger pillion would work on top of the rack. he mentioned that if i wasn't REALLY attached to the rack, we could try it both ways, weld the bar to the rack, as well as fab up one to replace the rack (use the same type of mount to the fender).

do you have a pic of it with the seat mounted? and what kind of seat did you use?

I have the "standard" HD detachable ones.

With:

And without

As mentioned in one of the earlier posts; it is easy to remove (< 1 min). "C" shape at the front, click-in lock at the back. I typically ride w/o and put it on if my daughter (12) joins me for a ride.

Harley gloss black quick detatchable low. Put the touring pad on it. I want to do the mod from these forums where you mount your saddlebags to the detatchable side plates.

Bspike1 gives you the link to the seat that I have. I am attaching some pics of the rack before the sissy bar, and after. When the shop fabbed the bar, I left the rack and seat with them so that they could attach the bar and leave room for the seat to still work. I'm real happy with the job they did. The last pic is the HD low sissy bar that attaches to the clip on seat. If your interested in that instead, PM me and I'll give you a good price.
