I think a larger tank would look real nice on your bike, especially with the theme you are going with. The springer front end, the pipes and fenders. It would definitely flow really well and the cost is really not to great considering what we pay for parts anyway, and you do get an added bonus of additional fuel capacity...No brainer in my book....

Thanks as always, guys. Now I have to decide whether to buy new aftermarket or used MOCO.

Why buy new? Should be plenty of deals on ebay.

Funny, my wide glide has a 4.7 gal tank. What's funny is, when it's nearly empty the most I have ever pumped in it is 3.8gal.

Well hell, I have put more than 3.8 in my Low Rider and the bike was still running!

The owners manual lists the fuel capacity on my 01 Low Rider as 4.9 gal. Though i wonder if it may actually be less, because I've hit reserve before and then only put 3.3. gals. in it. I'm not sure how much of the capacity is reserve.

I do have a Wide Glide tank in my shed that came off my 95. If you're interested I might make you a deal on it. It's just the tank though, no dash or console.

fastjoe, yes I may be interested. Heres my only concern. When I look up speedo's they all say 96-98. So I am concerned that even though the mounts on a 95 will bolt up fine, I would not be able to get a speedo to fit that tank that would work with the type of sensor that controls my '96. If I can figure out how to make it work, them I am interested. So what I need to know is will the 5 inch wide glide digital speedo that works with my transmission sensor, work on your gas tank.

Man I wish I had an answer, but I really don't know. My 95 did have a digital odometer and not the old analog one if that helps. I've noticed too that a lot of the stuff for Wide Glides is 93-95 then 96-03. I don't know what all the differences are. I do know that the speedo was electric and didn't have a cable like some of the older Harleys do. Maybe a dealer can tell you if you can find one with a parts guy that knows his stuff. Or, maybe someone hear on the forum knows.
