Rush baffles in stock pipes?
Anyone tried to put the rush baffles in a stock pipe? I have an 11 Fat Bob. I bought the Rush 1.75 slip ons, slash down, to keep the stock look. 15 hours after installing them, I dropped the bike on them scratching both pipes. I have a mint set of stock pipes, just don't know if it can be done.

I did just that. I drilled out the 3 rivets and pulled the stock baffle. I then installed rush 1.75 baffles into the stock pipes. They are about 1/8" smaller than needed. You can run them that way. Or what i did was i bought an 3" diameter exhaust tip from the auto parts store. I cut 4 2" pcs from this 3" diameter exhaust tip. I then tack welded these pcs to each end of the baffle over the ends now making the baffle have a 3" outside diameter. Then it fit perfect.

No difference. You figure the muffler cans are 99% the same. Its the baffle that gives you a distinctive sound. So if you use a rush baffle it will sound like rush pipes. Here is the video i shot of my stock pipes with rush baffles. I had these first, then rush slipons with a 2" baffle, now i have a full system. I still have my stock pipes with the rush 1.75 baffles. This way if i sell the bike and they want a quieter exhuast you can get the harley sound with the stock look.
