Default Polyurethane Riser Bushings on a Street Bob

So, contrary to the parts and apparel manual, I purchased the polyurethane riser busings (isolators) part number 56165-03.

The parts manual says that it fits all dynas '86-later except FXDB. So, I figured that this is probably talking about '08 and later street bobs with the integrated risers. And not the '06/'07 street bobs.

So, I bought them and brought them home. Of course they fit in my triple trees, but I had to rush them to the powder coaters so I couldn't do the final fit.

I just wanted to share that they most possibly work....and I will post when I get my trees back next week.

I think you are going to like them a lot. I put a set in my 07 LR a few weeks back that I bought from Drag Specialties for $10. It really made a difference in the handling of my bike. Glad to see that you did not take there word for it and discovered that they fit your bike....

What kind of difference did it make? Was there less vibrations due to the hardness of the bushings?

I recently installed them on my '07 L-R. I like the improvement in handling. However, I did notice that the clutch lever now vibrates.

That is funny because some people claimed more vibes, and now my clutch lever vibrates on my 07 LR too....I will take a look at it when I swap the bars out in the fall.

Much firmer than the stock ones. I also didn't realize how much the bars moved around with the stock rubber bushings.

I always hated how much the stock apes moved with the stock bushings. Swapped to the same HD poly bushings when the new apes went on and I love them. The stock bushings were so damn sloppy it was sickening.

i'm always "adjusting" my bars by pushing the handlebars to one side or the other and giving it a little shove--there is a lot of play in those rubber bushing--hated crooked handle bars on my bycycle as a kid and hate even more on my harley. tried loosening them and re-torquing but they still seem off a bit from time to time. i was told by stealership to stay away form the polys becasue more vibs would make it up to your hands....maybe i'll have to give these a whirl...

edit: just looked them up on the HD website $39.95 and it states that "The long-lasting bushing can reduce handlebar vibration."

Stiffer bushings will naturally transmit more vibrations. But it more than makes up for it in having bars that dont twist around and gives your more confidence in the corners.
