Default Leather or Vinyl Seat????

I was ready to pull the trigger on a C & C LoPro Solo seat for my Street Bob. Called them and talked to Dave, told him I wanted leather. He tried to talk me into vinyl because the leather looks old and distressed after about 6 months of riding. Now I'm totally confused.

Would like some feedback on the pros and cons of leather and vinyl seats. I've had both on other bikes and prefer the looks and feel of leather, but I don't want a seat that looks like a hand me down later on.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have a C&C 2 piece Solo with Mercedes leather that still looks new after a bout 1 1/2 years for my SB. I also have a Corbin Gunfighter I bought used for the Sportster a number of years ago that is still in excellent condition and no signs of distress.

I also have 3 other Corbin Leather seats for my 1998 FB and the bottom egdes of the Vinyl are the worn areas.

I guess a lot would be in how you take care of the seat and dress it with a Leather Conditioner/Dressing from time to time.

Harley has a great Leather Conditioner, Neetsfoot oil is another product I also use quite a bit.

Without a doubt, leather looks and feels much better.

C&C tried to talk me out of leather for the same reason also. I went ahead with the leather though. Seat is almost 3 years old now and still looks new and leather will always be more comfortable.

I have heard from a lot of people complaining about leather aging badly but have never saw this first hand. all my leather goods last for years.

Vinal for a daily rider. Leather for a show queen.

I prefer vinyl over leather, it is more durable and will not age.

My last leather seat was a badlander I bought for my last Dyna and it wasn't waterproof.

A leather seat will be fine if you look after it but personally I would rather spend my time riding.

Leather feels soooo much better. It is slicker, for lack of a better term, it is much easier to move around on leather to find a different position. With decent care lather should last forever.
