I have a new 2011 Street Bob with 2500km on it. Just had the break in oil changed to fully synthetic and I just noticed oil around both sparks plugs on the outside of the plugs. What could this be and should it be checked by a mechanic?
How far did you ride it after the service? Are the plugs coated with oil or is it some sitting at the base of the plugs? I would at least pull the plugs and see what they look like inside. It seems odd, especially since I would think the plugs would get hot enough to burn off any oil. Maybe the tech who serviced the bike spilled some or had oil on his fingers.
It could be lube applied to the plug threads when they were installed. Heat may have caused it to thin and seep out from the threads. I'd wipe it off with some brake cleaner or equivalent solvent and keep an eye on it to see if it returns.
